About us |
Starting as a horse dealer and trainer, John Parker sold his first horsebox to a customer in Malta in 1977. Someone who needed a horse taken to France heard about this and contacted John and asked if he would drop the horse off on the way. John agreed and wife Jackie, set-off behind the wheel of the old Bedford. From this humble beginning John Parker International Horse Transport was created.
Originally based in Liphook, Hampshire, Parkers outgrew their home and in 1996 decided to move the livery yard nearer to the port of Dover, improving transport links to and from Europe.
Little Owl Barn, Hythe is now the hub of John Parker International and 2003 will see the completion of extensive modernisation of the stables and facilities that are available to customers and other transporters using the premises.
Parkers fleet of blue horseboxes are driven by very capable men and women who take care and pride in the horses they carry. The second generation of the Parker family, Fred is now on the road, continuing the tradition established by John and Jackie who offer a personal service to their customers many of whom use them time and again, impressed by their caring and professional attitude. |
